Boards heavily worn, spine missing top inch from head, owner name on front flyleaf, gift inscription on rear flyleaf, pages toned. The author was the principal of Elmira Free Academy in Elmira, NY, a private boy's school and this volume was one of several scientific textbooks he authored for secondary school use. Natural Philosophy is today referred to as physics, and this book covers general laws of physics, mechanical operation, acoustics, optics, heat and electricity. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 340 pages .
