Thick quarto. 801 pages. 20th-century black buckram, gilt-lettered on spine. FIRST EDITION. Complete printed indexes of Volumes 1-70 of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Each index arranged in two formats: alphabetically by subject (through page 552) and alphabetically by author (pages 555-end). Twenty entries are recorded for Isaac Newton, eighteen for Christian Huygens, and a full fifty-eight for Robert Boyle.
