Evelyn Scott (1893–1963) was an American novelist, playwright and poet, who also wrote under the pseudonyms Ernest Souza and Elsie Dunn. This book "Precipitations" was her first book. .

This is a very lovely small book of poetry by Dante Gabriel Rossetti with illustrations by Paul Woodroffe. It was published by David McKay, Philadelphia, and dates to circa 1916. This appears to be a special binding, more luxurious than the softcover binding that McKay published, because this one has covers of thick rose-colored suede leather with the title and author impressed deeply into the suede on the front cover and spine. The front and back have double-page illustrations by Paul Woodroffe, as shown, and the title page has a lovely design as well as a facing illustration; there are 3 other illustrations among the 27 pages. The illustrations are in the Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau style. The page edges are gilt, as shown, and there is a pink ribbon bookmark sewn in. The author, James Ross (1743-1827), was a captain in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. He headed a grammar school in Carlisle, Pa., from 1780 to 1784, when he became the first faculty member of the newly founded Dickinson College. In 1792 he left Dickinson to established a school for classical learning in Chambersburg, Pa., where he wrote his popular Latin Grammar. He was professor of languages at Franklin College in Lancaster, Pa. from 18081 to 1809, when he moved to Philadelphia, where he continued to tutor students for the rest of his life. In Very Good Condition: lacking front free endpaper; closed 4-cm. tear from fore-edge of pp. 21-22; occasional soiling; light foxing; occasional marginal pencil mark; otherwise, clean and tight.

Göttingen: Steidl, 2017. Revised Steidl edition (first published as two volumes in 1977). This large format recreates the full original sequence of photos in one volume for the first time. Rich with 100 images illustrating Eggleston's pilgrimage from Memphis to the small town of Plains, Georgia (home of Jimmy Carter), where in November 1976 Carter was elected 39th President of the United States. Lonesome roads, train tracks, cars, gas stations and houses... 340 x 260 mm (13½ x 10¼ inches). In a very good condition - both inside and out. Lloyd Fonvielle says in the book's introduction: 'The photographs have a quietude and unsentimental romanticism, as well as an edge of poignance, which belie the expectations of hopefulness or portentousness suggested by a knowledge of the time and place in which they were made. On the eve of the election, when nothing had yet been decided, when everything - whatever that everything was -hung in the balance, Eggleston made an elegy... a statement of perfect calm'.

An anthology featuring works by 72 poets, most of them Black or people of color. Besides Major, poets include Julian Bond, Victor Hernández Cruz, David Henderson, Calvin Hernton, Marvin Jackman, Bob Kaufman, Ishmael Reed, Sonia Sanchez, and Gloria and Stephen Tropp. Lengthy prologue by the editor, Walter Lowenfels.
