Cedar Rapids , Iowa: The Torch Press. Near Fine. 1933. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Outer slipcase has light rubbing and soil, and is starting to pull apart at a seam, inner slipcase is fine, book cover has tiny slight bumped corner. ; 1st edition , 1st printing of the revised 1933 edition. Brown boards with paste down spine label. Deckle edge pages, side and bottom, top page edges gold-tipped. Personal gift inscription written on endpaper as he was making a gift of the book to a personal friend stating this was the favorite book of all he had written that he enjoyed writing the most. Also in an envelope there is a personal letter written to the same person he gifted the book, in the letter he describes his very serious illness close escape from his demise. This letter was written on a piece of his wife's stationary but is clearly written and signed by Henry Howard Harper. The book also has neatly attached below the gift inscription a copy of his newspaper obituary. The book is in very clean condition, carefully stored in a double layer slip case, outer case has the paste on label same as the book. Photos upon request. Memoir of growing up in Missouri and surrounding states in the 1870s. ; Plus Personal Signed Letter; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 275 pages; Signed by Author .
