Paris: L. Curmer, 1853. First Edition . Full Leather. Good/No Dust Jacket. sm 4to. 424+ pages, plus 35 plates of which 15 are color and tissue guarded. Full leather cover has been neatly rebacked retaining original decorative top and bottom. All edges gilded. From the library and with the book plate of William Beebe (1877-1962 American naturalist and ornithologist). Original covers are scuffed and lightly worn, mostly at corners. Gilded text edges show light scuffs. End leaves are darkened. Light foxing is seen on first and last few leaves, and occasionally throughout contents slightly affecting a few of the color plates. Volume remains tight, and is otherwise clean and intact.
