History of Bramber Castle by Herbert E. Erredge

BRIGHTON: H.CROWHURST Printed Paper covers (Stapled Paperback) 165 x 105 mm approx. 48 pp. Undated circa 1882. The short history is believed to have been first published in1867 to promote tourism. The copy held by Cambridge University is attributed as [1882] and the style and print format of the copy offered would tend to support. The latest historical event mentioned is the marriage of Henry Fitzalam Howard to Lady Flora Hastings in Nov.1877. The author was born in Brighton circa 1842 and died in 1886. The Lindfield One Name Group web site also provides some interesting background to the booklet and the Bramber Castle Legend. Later reprints seem to have been by Potter's museum of curiosities. Brighton: H Crowhurst. A small pamplet, in limp yellow wraps, stapled at the spine, with black titles to the front. This paperback is undated, probably early 20th century to 1950/60s, but its impossible to tell. It is in VG condition. 48pp. Cover is lightly aged, with some rust stains on staples. Quite informally told history, up until about the 1830s. VG condition. . Very Good. Paperback. Reprint.
