New York: Simon and Schuster, 1957 First edition, stated first printing. Signed by Howard Nemerov directly on the title page. Basis for a Broadway play and Hollywood movie, "Tall Story," featuring Jane Fonda, in her debut film, and Anthony Perkins. Signed association copy, from the Library of Elbert Lenrow, author and 20th-Century pedagogue, taught courses in American & European literature at the New School for Social Research attended by Nemerov, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, et al.. Elbert Lenrow's ownership signature (dated on month/year of publication) on the front-free-endpage. Lenrow's underlining and annotations throughout the text. Aside from Lenrow's notations, book in fine condition; dust jacket with a few closed tears, shallow chipping along edge, and some tanning to spine.
