(Naval Institute Press, 1984) Note that the signature, and the inscription (which is amazing that he signed it to a "subdrum" or navy slang for submariner), was dated 26 days after the October 1st publication date!!! A really sweet top of the line copy of this book and signed and dated in the month of publication no less. What a find. And I'm not going to price it where the other guys will price it, so get it while you can. This is your forever copy.
All first edition points are present on this copy, as displayed in the picture of the actual book. 16 lines, 6 blurbs, ISBN number on the rear board, no price etc... Book in VG+ with just minor shelfwear. Jacket in VG+ with the smallest of abrasions on the front bottom panel, near the spine, which is pictured. Trivial as overall the jacket is very sharp and presents perfectly.
All First printing points present. Full red cloth boards are Fine, Very clean, sharp corners. Spine is Fine, silver lettering in perfect condition! No creasing. Pages are very white, no writing, no folding, binding is VERY tight. Page edges are Very Clean! My Sister Life was written in the summer before the 1917 October Revolution, it was very well received and established him as a genius of Russian poetry. The English translation was done by Mark Rudman. The acclaimed Russian born artist, Yuro Kuyper provides 6 etchings for the publication, printed on Hannemule paper in Paris. The paper used for the text was hand-made by H. M. P. Mill in Connecticut to resemble the sort of stock produced in 1920's Russia, even incorporating bits of Russain newspapers with rags and cotton pulp. The book is in near fine condition, with the only defect being some sunning to the spinea. The slipcase in VG or better, showing some sunning. The book is signed by Yuri Kuyper and this copy is #212 of 250. The original LEC invoice for $4000 laid in; Etching; Folio 13" - 23" tall; Signed by Illustrator .
