New York: Guilt Edged Mystery-E. P. Dutton and Co., 1952. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Black cloth-effect paper covered boards, lettered in red. Very slightly rubbed spine extremities, lightly toned text block edges. Former owner's book plate mounted on front flyleaf, a few minor soil spots on half-title, otherwise clean interior. Tight, square binding. Stated 2nd ptg.: Feb. 1952 (five years after the original 1947 issue). Dust jacket rubbed and slightly chipped along top edge of front flap, otherwise light rubbing to edges, a few very minor chips and triangular chip extending to 3/8" at head of front joint, 3/4" closed tear at heel of front joint, rear panel somewhat toned, still presents well in mylar. 218 pp..

Synopsis

Here's Mickey Spillane and Mike Hammer in their roughest and readiest--a double-strength shot of sex, violence, and action that is vintage Spillane all the way. It's a tough-guy mystery to please even the most bloodthirsty of fans!

Our inventory is highly selective, individually chosen from among the hundreds of thousands of books to which we have access annually at auctions, library and estate sales, and through individual scouts and vendors. We do not handle material that does not meet our expectations in terms of condition or interest to our specialized, idiosyncratic customers. Despite maintaining a browsing inventory of more than 15,000 volumes, we have minimized our carbon footprint by maintaining our entire operation in a cozy ca. 1890 barn and lean-to adjacent to an historic creamery in rural Maxatawny Township.
