Unpaginated (24 pp.) volume representing a program issued to accompany the Internationalist Arts Festival in San Francisco held in May 1982, containing listings of poetry, art, film, video, and music events as well as a masquerade ball, together with additional content on art, politics, and music, some of which served in part as issue #3 of BITCHROCK, a short-lived San Francisco counterculture magazine possibly linked to the legendary Aquarius Records store. San Francisco [San Francisco Poster Brigade and Internationalist Art Publications] 1982. The Internationalist Arts Festival was held in conjunction with a touring exhibition organized by the San Francisco Poster Brigade, formerly known as the Wilfred Owen Brigade (named after a radical poet killed in World War I), called the Internationalist Art Show Anti-WW3. The show opened in San Francisco in October 1980 and traveled to Los Angeles, Tucson, and New York, before returning to San Francisco in May 1982 for its closing exhibition at the Southern Exposure Gallery. The exhibition was comprised of radical political works submitted from around the world, and the festival was held contemporaneously.
A worker from the festival writes in the program, "This Festival is unique in the fact that it has life & action besides art on the walls and piles of poetry on the table - film & slides. At night it takes on a face of live theater. On any given night that this live theater takes place, I promise you - you can expect the unexpected - on stage and off sometimes...this Internationalist Arts Festival is alive and can only live with your support - so, come down, experience & express yourself if you dare."
