About This Item

Heinemann, 1934. Hardcover. Very Good. A first edition, first printing published by Heinemann in 1934. A very good+ book with some light foxing to the the prelims with some also to the latter pages. Bound in the original black cloth with the publisher's device blind-stamped to the lower board. Edges are a little toned with a few spots to the fore-edge. In a good unclipped wrapper showing the correct price of 7'6 to the front flap (later issues had 3'6). Designed by Youngman Carter, the dust wrapper depicts a map of London. Some internal professional reinforcement to the hinges. Some light loss to the spine tips and corners. Some light creasing. The first issue dust wrapper, distinguished by the higher price of 7'6 (reduced to 3'6 subsequently) is most uncommon indeed.
