Description:
Rand Daily Mail, Johannesburg, 1950. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. The blue cloth cover has a cartoon illustration that is still evocative. The book has been poorly stored and there is slight discolouration to the rims. There are very general handling marks. The spine has been damaged at the foot by a burn: the cover is wounded through to the binding beneath. The head of the spine has discolouration and pull depressions. There is a gift inscription (not from the author) on the frontispage. Pages 91 - 93 have paper cutting tear marks. Otherwise, this obviously much read book is in general good, readable condition. fk. Rand Daily Mail, 1950. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1950. 234 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial cloth. No Edition remarks within. Front endpaper has been removed. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.
