Supplemented with original board pamphlet cover for facsimile map from Olmsted's later work The Cotton Kingdom. All housed in custom slip case. Olmsted, known as the father of American Landscape Architecture, was commissioned by the New York Daily Times to write a series of articles about the slave economy. This three-volume set is a compilation of his articles to the paper.
Condition: The three volumes are in good condition and were thoughtfully and professionally restored in half leather with marble covers and end pages.
