Keokuk axes are the "half-grooved" stone axes of the Neolithic North American Indians. They are named after the general area of Keokuk, Iowa where these axes are found. Prior to the publication of this book Bruce Filbrandt had been collecting Neolithic axes, especially Keokuk axes, for thirty years.
