VERY GOOD book in VERY GOOD price-clipped dj Red cloth-bound boards with 20 b&w photographs and 2 illustrations in text, appendix (lace anecdotes), bibliography, and index. The pillow-lace maker weaves threads between pins on a cushion, the threads being wound on bobbins, and over a hundred bobbins might be used for the more complex patterns. This book provides information for the collector of lace bobbins - the different materials from which they are made (bone, wood, pewter, glass etc), and their different ornamentation and inscriptions.
