New York: Rinehart& Company, 1949. Book. Near Fine. Cloth. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Orange cloth with black title label and gilt lettering to the spine. This copy is NEAR FINE in a VG, unclipped ( $5.00) DJ. Edited and with an Introduction by Carl Van Vechten. Rinehart colophon on copyright page. First Edition. Frontispiece photo of Stein. Exterior is bright as are black plates and gilt lettering. Just a touch rubbed at spine ends. Inside is unmarked, crisp, and tight with a small book seller label ( Radio City Book Store) at bottom front paste down.Modest toning throughout.DJ has a bit of general soiling , rubbing, and a 1/2" closed tear at top front spine. .
