Light toning to text, slightly heavier in places, light soiling to endleaves. $850. * First edition. This terse but wide-ranging compendium went through 11 more editions by 1792. Typical of Jacob's work, it was aimed at a broad spectrum of readers. Jacob, though certainly interested in boosting sales by attracting the widest audience possible, was an idealist who believed that widespread knowledge of the law would help create a more just society.
