Libra by Don Delillo - 1988

First American hardcover edition with dust jacket, published by Viking, 1988. The dust jacket is intact, though it has been price clipped at the top corner of the front flap. A blend of historical fact and supposition, this is the story of the assassination of JFK, with the focus on the enigmatic figure of Lee Harvey Oswald. As is the case with this edition, the dust jacket has both the US and UK prices on the front flap, the US price at the top corner has been clipped, the UK price is still present on the bottom corner. The spine of this this book tends to easily sun fade, and this copy does show fading to the orange background color to the extent that it appears more yellow than orange, though the title and author name is not faded. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. No tears or other wear to report to the jacket. Light gray boards over black cloth covered spine with the author name and title imprinted on the spine in copper. Boards are flat. Both of the bottom corners are slightly bumped with 1/8" wear marks into the boards at the tips of those corners - see attached photos. 457 pages, rough edges text block. Sewn binding is tight and square, edges of the text block are clean. This is not a remainder, not a library copy. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages.
