Family presentation copy w/ lengthy inscription by Joseph Grafton Coolidge, son of the Reverend's sister, Mary Coolidge & namesake. Rubbing to spine ends & corners, spine head chipped. Spine sunned, slightly cocked. Binding holding. Two clipped ink signatures of Rev. Grafton & engraved frontis portrait tipped onto ffep verso. Offsetting to title pg opposite frontispiece. Light foxing, tanning scattered to pgs throughout. One leaf dogeared. Ink inscription to fpd: "This book has been in the possession of Elizabeth Hanshaw (sp?) for several years. In her last sickness she gave it to her sister Mary Coolidge who brought it from Leicester in 1866 & with the autographs presented them to the only person in this vicinity who wears the name of the good man, whose deeds are passing away, with the generation who hallow his memory.
