Very clean covers, text block. Spine ends rubbed. Slipcase: Good condition- maroon, textured, pasted paper on heavy cardboard; edge wear, chips, & a 1.25" spine end tear. Signed, Association copy. Inscribed by Bob Sherrod on free front end paper: "To my friend Brice (sic) Harlow with best wishes Bob Sherrod". Robert Sherrod was a journalist and war correspondent for Time and Life magazines during World War II and the Vietnam War. He authored 5 books on World War II. He was editor of Time during World War II, an editor of the Saturday Evening Post, and finally, Vice President of Curtis Publishing Co. Bryce Harlow was a key aide to US Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan. He was also said to have advised President Johnson. He was a corporate lobbyist who is listed in Drug Industry & HMO Lobbyists with Revolving Door Connections, 2003. Both of these men are mentioned in presidential transition documents (during the Eisenhower administration) and in the Robert Charles Hill (US Ambassador/politician) papers.
