Unpaginated (12 pp. and five laid in plates, four with original tissue paper overlay) volume from the Belgian printer containing a brief essay on his thoughts on the printing of art, followed examples of various types of reproductions, or "Spécimens de Différents Procédés de Reproduction", including an etching after Bruegel, a one-color "similgravure" after Clouet, a four-color "similgravure" after Stacouet, a two-tone "simili-hêlio" after Van Dyck, and a polychrome reproduction of a woodblock print of a children's book illustration. Some minor toning to some paper stocks. Folio. Original wrpps. with green, white, and purple lightly embossed Art Nouveau design by Lucien Rion, some minor chipping and soiling. Brussels (Havermans) 1913. At the time of the printing of this volume, Havermans was serving as the Secretary of the Chambre Syndicale des Maîtres Imprimeurs de Bruxelles. In 1914, Havermans hosted a conference on the theme "L'esthétique moderne in imprimerie", and he reused the cover image from this volume in the talk he delivered on "Le Musée du Livre". Belgian artist Lucien Rion designed the Art Nouveau cover as well as some chapter headings and initial designs. Scarce; as of October 2020, OCLC does not locate any holdings of this volume.
