East Aurora, N.Y.: Roycrofters, 1904. Hardcover. Very Good. [7], 130-153, [3] p.: tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait of Schopenhauer; 20 cm. Original brown cloth spine and grey paper over boards. Printed paper label on front cover with "Schopenhauer" in black and a decoration in red. Untrimmed edges. Title page has elaborately decorated border. Similarly elaborate initial at beginning of text. Colophon in red. "The borders and initials designed by Roycroft artists, portrait by Otto J. Schneider and the whole done into a printed book by the Roycrofters at their shop in East Aurora, Erie County, New York, in November of the Year MCMIV." -- from the colophon. This title was also issued as Little Journeys, vol. 15, no. 5, Nov. 1904. However, this is the much less common hardcover issue. In Very Good Condition: cover is lightly soiled; edges of spine lightly rubbed; pages are clean and bright.
