New York: Random House, 1967. First Edition, First Printing. Cloth. Near fine/near fine. First edition of Lonesome Cities by Rod McKuen, inscribed to Aileen Mehle, the notorious Suzy Knickerbocker.. Octavo, 111 pp., near fine binding with bright clean pages. Stated "first printing" on copyright page. Dust jacket near fine, retail price on front flap, illustration of Frank Sinatra on rear panel, small closed tear along top edge of back panel, otherwise fine. Signed by the author and presented to Aileen Mehle a/k/a Suzy Knickerbocker, famed society columnist: "For Aileen with appreciation-- Rod / 24 Sept 68." A nice association copy. Aileen Mehle, better known by her pen name Suzy Knickerbocker, was a nationally syndicated society columnist and journalist. In Television, she was known for her appearances on "What's My Line" during the 1960s. She passed away in 2016 in New York City.
