The Lovers virtually turned the field upside down with its portrayal of a sexual liaison between a human and an alien (from DJ). First Ballantine hardcover Edition, 1st printing. A greatly abbreviated magazine 'sketch' version was published in Amazing Stories in 1952. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the author to Jack Cordes, who was known as '#1 Fan' by most sci-fi authors of that era - and the author's inscription talks about having first met Mr. Cordes in 1952 when the magazine version of the story came out. Fine, very tight unread book, straight and clean with no writing in it other than the author's, in a Fine, price intact dustjacket with no wear. Wonderful inscription and provenance, and a beautiful book. ; 8 1/2" x 6"; 219 pages; Signed by Author .
