Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1929. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Book Signed by Author. VG+ HB, missing the original glassine cover, but in the original slipcase. Singed by Boyd on the limitation page. Over the limitation notice Boyd has written, "This is one of | the thirty copies | for presentation" and he has marked a # sign on the blank for the number. This edition was limited to 530 copies, with 500 for sale and 30 for presentation. Yellow paper over boards with quarter bound in royal blue cloth with 13 gilt stars stamped on the front cover and a gilt title on the spine. 5 p., 3-351 p. front. (port.), maps.; 23 cm. In addition, a facsimile of a note from Wayne to George Washington is tipped in. Size: Octavo (8vo; up to 9 3/4" / 20-25 cm tall). 351 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Binding is tight; corners sharp, but the head and foot of the spine shows a little wear and there is a small (1/4") cut at the foot of the spine. A number of the signatures remain uncut on the bottom edge. The book is in the original slipcase, which is covered with yellow paper and has the title in blue on the front panel. The outside edge is a bit darkened. The top front edge is completely split; the top back edge is about half-way split. The outside edges are a bit tattered, particularly at the top corners.
