Paris: Plain Edition, 1933. First Edition. Octavo, 278 pages. In Very Good minus condition. Bound in tan wrappers with black lettering on spine and front cover. In printed slipcase of like color to wrappers, some wear to slipcase. Mild wear overall. Large stain front pastedown and front free end paper, rear pastedown pasted with a crease. One of 500 copies printed for this edition. Shelved in Case 2. The descriptive essays on Picasso and Matisse first appeared in Alfred Stieglitz's Camera Work, in the August 1912 edition devoted to Picasso and Matisse. These represented Stein's first published works, and were first collected in book format with this edition released in 1933. Also included are the two short stories A Long Gay Book and Many Many Women. 1319074. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
