Contemporary gilt-ruled calf spine; red leather spine label with gilt-tooled title. Marbled paper over boards. At head of title: Useful Family Book. Former owner's name on front free endpaper: E.H. Sessions. Volume contains Jan. 1806-Dec. 1807, v. I, no. 1-24 (all published). Sabin, 11:47305. Contains research and information on both medical and agricultural matters, including "Natural History of the Horse-Bee" by Rowland Green; meteorological observations for various locations; and "Case of Recovery from apparent Consumption" by Eliphalet Lyman. Also bills of mortality for Mason, N.H., 1798-1805; Concord, Mass., 1779-1805; Portsmouth, N.H., 1801-1805; and Shrewsbury 1805. In Very Good- Condition: lacking leather at tail of spine; front joint starting at each end, but still solid; boards are rubbed; 11-cm. tear from lower edge of pp. 9-10, without loss; foxing throughout; otherwise clean.
