London: J and R Tonson, 1736. First Thus . Hardcover. Very Good. Miscellaneous Works in Verse and Prose of the Late Right Honourable Joseph Addison, Esq; With some Account of the Life and Writing of the Author, by Mr. Tickell. Three Volumes. Original 1736 edition newly rebound in handsome brown full-leather. Occasional light foxing and browing of page edges. The volumes contain plays, essays, poems and dialogues. Vol. III has 235 pages devoted to "Dialogues Upon the Usefulness of Ancient Medals, Especially in Relation to the Latin and Greek Poets." Many illustrations of the medals are included. Addison was born in England, educated at Oxford, and then he entered politics. He married the Dowager Countess of Warwick in 1716, died in 1719, and was buried in Westminster Abbey. Very Good interior in Fine outer binding.
