He was instrument for sending Tsunami Relief Team consisting of NSS volunteers to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the installation of Red Ribbon Club in 62 colletes. In recognition of his outstanding contribution, the Government of Tamil Nadu has selected him for ""Best University Co-ordinator Award"" from 33 Universities for the year 2005-06.
