New York: Farrar, Straus & Young, (1952). First Edition. Hardcover. Light wear to top and bottom edges of the book. Very Good in an edgeworn, Very Good dustwrapper. Quarto (8" x 11") bound in two-toned cloth and illustrated with numerous facsimiles of Truman's writing, drawings, and photographs in color and black and white. INSCRIBED by the former President as usual in the large blank margin beneath the color frontispiece photograph of Truman at his desk: "My best to Commander and Mrs. Lingo/Harry Truman/White House,/April 26, 1952." Laid in is an index card written on one side in a child's hand: "Dear Mr. President, Please write in this for Mama and Daddy. Thank you. Jane Lingo." Also laid in is a piece of White House stationery with a typed note to have books delivered to Miss Jane Lingo.
