Barnes and Company, 1957, hardcover, xi-276 pp, Edition not stated, No previous printings noted, Good condition, lacking dustjacket, Signed on the top corner of the front endpaper by Larry Ritter author of The Glory of Their Times, often cited as 'the best book about baseball ever written' and many other baseball-related books, this book seems to have been his personal copy. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, wear to bottom corners and head of spine. The prolific American author and creator of Studs Lonigan remembers the baseball heroes and stories of his life beginning with memories of his baseball card collection in the early 20th century and following with interviews and stories from such baseball greats as: Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Walter Johnson, Babe Ruth, Red Faber, Buck Weaver and many more.
