Following is a description of the 22 folding maps, with brief descriptions of the condition of each:

1. "Eastern Hemisphere". This map is detached with some minor chips to the edges of the folds and minor dampstaining along the top edge.

2. "Western Hemisphere". This map has a couple of tiny tears at the edges and minor faint dampstaining along the top.

3. "Europe". This map is darkened with creases chips and tears to the edges, some early paper & paste tape repairs from the verso and a small piece out from the front edge.

4. "Sweden / Denmark / Norway". This map has a couple of long tears along the folds, without any loss.

5. "Russia". This map has a small creased tear to one edge and minor faint dampstaining to the other edge.

6. "Scotland". This maps is sadly mutilated with a large piece torn away from the top.

7. "England & Wales". This map has several tears along the folds and one section has been reinforced with stitches.

8. "Ireland". This map has but a few minor chips and minor foxing to the edges.

9. "France". This map has but a few minor chips & tiny tears to the edges with light dampstaining to the top edge.

10. "Holland". There is a long tear to the top edge of this map, though without any loss.

11. "Germany". There is minor dampstaining to one edge and there are short tears to the edges, mostly at the folds, one of which has been discreetly repaired with paper & paste from the verso.

12. "Prussia". In very nice condition.

13. "Switzerland". In very nice condition.

14. "Spain and Portugal". The left edge of this map is heavily dampstained with a chip out from that edge. The bottom edge is also slightly roughed at left and there is a vertical tear along the left edge with evidence of an early attempt to repair the tear from the verso with paper & paste.

15. "Italy". This map is in very nice condition.

16. "Turkey in Europe and Hungary". This map is in very nice condition.

17. "Asia". There are a few short tears to the right edge and a longer tear along one of the folds, without any loss.

18. "Hindostan". There is a long tear to the top edge, without any loss.

19. "Africa". The top edge is slightly darkened.

20. "North America". There are minor chips to the bottom and to the right edges of this map with a short tear to the left edge and some dampstaining along the edges.

21. "South America". There is some minor faint dampstaining to the edges.

22. "West Indies". There is some minor dampstaining to the bottom edge of this otherwise very nice map.
