About This Item
Large square 4to, pictorial colored front and back covers, illustrated. Some slight soiling, slight aging; otherwise very good plus. This is the souvenir book for the 1913-14 season at the New York Hippodrome. Constructed in 1905, the New York Hippodrome thrilled audiences for over 30 years until it closed in August 1939. Featuring circus acts, singers, comedians, and even Harry Houdini, but with the increased popularity of motion pictures, by the late 1920s the Hippodrome was showing movies. americaslibrary.gov.
