Platt & Munk, 1935. Cloth. Good. 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall. Very small book, red cloth slightly soiled--no attempt made to clean it but can be done. Color-illustration of Santa Claus set in top front left, ornate black design on front, colorful fairy tale illustration inside covers and adjacent end papers, 59 stiff heavy pages, color illustrations on every other page on right side. Light wear and tiny nick at spine bottom edges. Good.
Synopsis
"A Visit from St. Nicholas ", also known as " The Night Before Christmas" and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas " from its first line, is a poem first published anonymously in 1823 . This famous poem helped to cement the image of Santa Claus from the description of his appearance, his transportation, and how he brings the gifts to children on Christmas eve.
