1928. [THE SUMMER CAMP OF THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATIONS OF BURLINGTON, CAMDEN, GLOUCESTER AND MONMOUTH COUNTIES]. OCKANICKON MEMORIES. Small quarto, carboard wraps. A camp booklet with 20 pages inside a tan cardboard cover. With a photograph tipped to the second page of a boating scene at the camp. Also with an old, 8- by 10-inch group portrait of the campers, dated July 9, 1928. Camp Ockanickon was founded in 1906 and still operates in Medford, NJ to this day. The book gives the camp's daily schedule, advice to campers, religious instruction and passages, swimming tests, camp honors, and a few pages for personal notes. This copy belonged to Cornelius Schipper and is dated 1928 with various notes by Schipper on the rear pages. Very Good (little edgewear with shallow chip to edge of front cover, contents nice; loose photograph has some dark discoloration). Scarce. $45.00.
