Fine. - Large octavo [11 inches high by 7-1/4 inches wide], white cloth & orange cloth with the society's seal stamped in gilt on the front cover, in a plain brown dust wrapper. The corners are bumped. [vii] & 319 deckle-edged pages. 4 sepia-toned plates and black-and-white head-pieces & textual illustrations. Near fine in the original cardboard mailing box with the society's printed label addressed to 'W.M. Clearwater". <p>Clearwater's five-page article is accompanied by a plate depicting the church and is followed by marriage and baptismal records of the church prior to 1800.<p>The purpose of the Holland Society was to collect and preserve information about the early history and genealogy of the Dutch in America and in particular the early history and settlement of the City and State of New York by the Dutch.
