This striking circa 1918 World War I poster by artist Adolf Treidler was created by the United States Food administration as part of the homefront mobilization series. The poster urges people to 'Beat Germany' eating less and wasting nothing. As the administrator of the Food Administration, Herbert Hoover and the Administrations believed that "Food, will win the war". The Food Administration combined the spirit of patriotism and advertising to conserve food. The poster is in good condition with minor foxing. Mounted on board. Collection inventory number in margin. Library notations in right margin. Pencil notation on verso notes provenance to L.I. Historical Society. Hard to find.
