Original red cloth, gilt-lettered on spine; original pictorial dust jacket. FIRST EDITION, published to accompany the exhibition held at the Metropolitan Museum in 1994-95. This catalogue studies five generations of manuscript painters in Florence, from the contemporaries of Giotto at the beginning of the fourteenth century to Fra Angelico and his followers in the middle of the fifteenth.
