A complete run in four issues (3 of the 4 issues consisting of one very large sheet, folded into 16 sections, printed both recto and verso, forming 32 "pages" each) of the obscure and short-lived 1960's periodical, directed by the Swiss artist Daniel Spoerri together with his partner Kichka Baticheff, dedicated to the documentation and dissemination of developments in the avant-garde during a vital time, with contributions (in various languages) by numerous noted artists and critics. Includes subscription form printed on lightweight pink paper stock, advertising the coming appearance of the journal: "AVIS AUX POPULATIONS - A partir du 1er Octobre 1966, ΣYMH l' île aux singes, l' île sur laquelle tomba l'avorton d'homme tiré du limon par Prométhee, l' île voisine de Rhodes, verra naître sa revue: LE PETIT COLOSSE DE ΣYMH - THE NOTHING ELSE REVIEW." The form contains instructions and prices for how to subscribe, along with the cheeky comment, "En òutre chaque abonné au "Petit Colosse de Simi" bénéficie de la carte de membre du: 'Club des vacances indéterminées de Da-Kich-niel-ka en Méditerranée' offerte gracieusement par la comité de rédaction", with prizes awarded to the earliest subscribers, including 2 or 3 weeks of free vacation on Simi; an original "object...de magie á la noix" from Spoerri, photographic views; or a box of Turkish delight. Le Petit Colosse... was published during Spoerri's time of self-imposed exile, along with Baticheff, on the remote Greek island of Symi. During this time of retreat, the pair put out numerous publications. These four issues comprise an art object as well as a complete periodical, with contributions to the first issue by Dieter Roth, Jean Tinguely, Robert Filliou, Emmett Williams, Georges Brecht, Claes Oldenburg, Makoto Oka, François Dufrêne, and André Thomkins, the other three issues dedicated to singular works from Baticheff or Spoerri (the fourth issue, for example, is devoted to the documentation of "25 Objets Archéologiques" by the artist). This journal was distributed by Bruno Bischofberger in Zurich, to a rumored subscription base of no more than two dozen friends of the artists.
