About This Item
'It is doubtless due to the particular mentality of the Far Easterners that the world appeared to them, not as an incomplete element, subjected to their pride by an absolute creator, but as a quivering whole whose life 'flowed, with its subtleties, its beauties and its pains, in a gigantic activity~ but nowhere has this idea received a more magnificent, more powerful, more clear and better ordered expression, than in Buddhism.'.
