About This Item

London: Chatto and Windus, 1964. First UK Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Duodecimo. 5 x 7.5 in. 94 pp. Very good in original blue-grey cloth boards and a good illustrated dust jacket that has a series of ring-like stains on the back, but otherwise is bright and unmarred. The interior pages have minor foxing. This copy comes from the library of David Madden, author of "Bijou," whose name appears on the front free endpaper. Translated from the Swedish by Naomi Walford. Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1951.
