Paris: Galerie Lutetia, [N.d. but early c. 20th]. Early twentieth century pochoir. Signed in the plate, and numbered No. 9 in pencil on lower right corner. 30.5 x 49.5 cm. About fine, the colors vivid and fresh. Not matted. Charles Ancelin (1863-1940), flourished around 1910-1930, specializing in horse racing, military equestrian, and trotting scenes rendered in the Art Deco style. This print is of harness racing, or trotting, with a driver in jockey silks on a two-wheel sulky, pulled by a splendid horse. An additional driver, horse and sulky are in the right background.
