New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1922. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. Dark blue cloth with blind stamped decoration on front board, faded gilt-stamped spine title, red and black letters on title page. Gutter before title cracked, short tear on spine ends, corners bumped, else very good, lacking the dustwrapper. Huntington Cairn's copy with his decorative bookplate laid on the front pastedown and his pen and pencil marginalia. Huntington Cairn was Secretary of The National Gallery of Art and the editor for Mencken's *The American Scene*.
