Lyon: Société d'Etudes, de Recherches et de Documentation Cinématographique, 1961. First printing. 105 pp., small 8vo. Sewn signatures bound in illustrated wrappers. French text. With fifty-seven black-and-white illustrations documenting Vigo's life and films, testaments from twelve friends and colleagues (including Boris Kaufman and Jean Painlevé), thirteen reviews and essays from four decades (by Siegfried Kracauer and James Agee, among others), fifteen pages of the filmmaker's writings, and a filmography. Wrappers lightly sunned and soiled, with a tiny chip at the crown of the spine, otherwise very good.
