Homemade paper covers with neat writing title of the 1909 catalogue, well illustrated products for this famous perfume line, 36pps, includes list of Dr. P. J. Eichhoff's Superfatted Medicinal Soaps, type, contents and price; end notes show prices for S.S. Pierce products in neat writing. Also changed prices and notes in ink on margins of several pages. The NY importer is William Kropff whose name appears on front cover. He was also the designer of an apparatus for making perfumed toilet tablets worn by ladies attached to their clothing (patent office 1903). There is a loosely inserted postcard from the Muhlens group wishing to collect all signs, dummies, window displays from the NY store. Rare glimpse of the wide array of products available for society women in the realm of perfumes and colognes.

Root's early-century, over-sized "dollhouse" book with illustrations (furniture, etc.) that can be cut out and mounted in any of nine different rooms. Full-color lithographs comprise an entire house. Root deliberately limited the number of illustrations so that the house could be customized and furnished with illustrations cut out from magazines and other sources. Rare. No copies appear in WorldCat library database at the time of this posting. 30 pp. 15 5/8" x 10". Tight copy with considerable shelf wear. Corners bumped and worn through, as are about half the edges. Hinges pulled away from backing somewhat, not affecting binding integrity. First two leaves show evidence of having been detached and competently reattached. Two small crayon markings noted. Housed in mylar wrapper. A workbook style of anagram prompts, with three perforated columns at the edge of each page for players to render their formulations, and blank lines to record the results. This copy is about 90-95% intact with only 3-5 written responses in the text. Detachable cards for sending anagrams to friends still present at rear. Marketed as an "absorbing" social activity with overt 18th amendment references on the DJ (example anagrams "Men meet gin, then death" / "End the gin; tame the men" / "Meaneth gin met the end.") A pleasing tactile production designed for defacement, but still nicely preserved.
