About This Item

Geneseo, New York: The Castlerea Press, 1998. Signed Copy. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 9x6x0. Signed by author. Signed by author with inscription, "For John, who has a destiny in helping us to right the wrongs in racing." Presentation copy order slip laid in. Crease and two small tears to jacket spine head. Faintly musty. 1998 Hard Cover. xii, 137 pp. "...highlights the history of the Thoroughbred sport in an exhortation to participants at every level to do what they can and must do to help return racing to the mainstream of sport in America. ...The book is supportive of the National Association of Thoroughbred Racing (NTRA) but reflects the author's belief that the NTRA initiative must be bulwarked by a return to the fundamentals that once made racing great, namely, self determination free of governmental control and the active reacceptance of "the racing imperative," the guiding principle upon which racing and all true sport is predicated."--jacket
