Binding is sound and square. Interior is unmarked. Toning and some foxing to fep and pastedowns. Pages are toned around edges, not affecting text. NOT ex-library. BOOK INFO: A five-page introduction describes the philosophy and artistic influences of the firm. The B&W photographs and drawings that follow in the remaining pages of the book (pp 19-115) illustrate these ideals with depictions of libraries, public buildings, chapels and churches across the US that the firm designed, including such architectural details as baptistries, screens, altars and clergy stalls. The Federal Building in Boston, then under construction, is pictured, along with the Provident Mutual Life Insurance building on Arch Street in Philadelphia; the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in NYC, with its scheme; the US Military Academy at West Point; and the Calvary Church in Pittsburgh. Includes index.
