Memoirs of Ray Everett Brown (1913-1974), the pioneering hospital administrator at Duke University, where he developed the master's degree program in hospital administration. A student at Gardner Webb College and a 1937 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ray Brown's first professional job was County Manager of Cleveland County in Shelby, North Carolina. In 1940, he was named superintendent of the hospital in Shelby. A few years later, he was named superintendent of North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. (162 pages.) Not in NUC.
