Syosset, NY: Fairfield Space and Defense Systems, 1970., 1970.. Very good. - Quarto [11-1/4 inches high by 8-3/4 inches wide], softcover. The contents are bound into a red stiff-paper file folder with a red plastic binder. A rectangular keyhole reveals the title on the first page of the report. The publisher's name is printed in gilt at bottom right. The binding is slightly warped from improper storage. The top corner of the rear cover is creased. [v] pages, pages 1-14 plus 31 diagrams & charts. Very good. <p>First edition<p>Fairchild Systems was a United States defense contractor. The San Francisco Chronicle described the company as "one of the legendary names of Silicon Valley" and noted that its Bay Area operations were a training ground for the engineers who went on to found Intel and other top semiconductor companies.<p>The authors write: "This document is a record of the presentation recently made at The Pentagon jointly by Dr. R. H. Dyck of Fairchild Semiconductor Research and Development Laboratory and Mr. W. J. Heacock of Fairchild Space and Defense Systems. Dr. Dyck dealt with the developments at Fairchild Semiconductor that have resulted in several different silicon large scale integration photosensor arrays. Mr. Heacock related the theory and practice of processing the array output signals to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio.".<p>Mounted on the front of the folder is the address label of Edward Willett who worked as an engineer at Fairchild Systems.
