Hardback tightly bound in white cloth with red titles and red & blue decoration, cloth is frayed at head of spine, backstrip is dulled, has minor rubbing at corners, pencilled name/place on (black) front endpaper, couple of blue pencilled text corrections, otherwise no inscriptions, contents a little shaken but holding well. 350 pages, tipped-in tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece with facsimile signature of author, 48 illustrations on plates, 3 maps (2 of them on foldouts), casualty list, glossary. Uncommon .
